The RARE Group will be presenting an educational program featuring “Killy” the American Kestrel and “Asio” the Screech Owl at 2:30 pm! Then, stay for the beginner’s oil painting class at the Bent Willow Studio and Gallery and learn to paint a raptor while enjoying a complimentary glass of wine – proceeds will benefit RARE! Also on the schedule – and Ice Carving Demonstration at 11 am, Chili Cook Off from 11-2, and games and art displays from 11-3!

Come see RARE at the Prairie Preview XXXIV presented by Bur Oak Land Trust. Steve Hendrix from the University of Iowa will be this year’s speaker beginning at 7:30 p.m. His talk is titled “Wild bees of Iowa: Hidden diversity in the service of conservation.” More than 40 exhibitors will be set up to showcase their organization, provide information and answer any questions that attendees may have. Refreshments provided.

Get to know RARE, the Raptor Advocacy, Rehabilitation and Education group of Iowa! Our event will take place at the East Side Recycling Center – 2401 Scott Blvd SE in Iowa City. Come “meet” some of our raptors through an educational program, enjoy some family-friendly activities and learn about the organization.
